About

I was raised in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  As a child, I loved the flowers that bloomed in my grandmother's gardens.  No matter the season, she had plants blooming inside and outside the big farmhouse.  I had no idea that in my later years those memories would spark a deep commitment to botanical illustration.  I have a number of degrees-- but my art degree is from Brescia College in 1990.  I have worked as a product designer for Abbey Press and utilized art therapeutically with children in play therapy.  My dream is to pursue botanical illustration in the years to come as I continue to search for graphic representations of the life force in organic structures.  I live in North Vancouver, British Columbia at the present time.  The illustrations I offer are in watercolor.  They emerge from a painstaking process of painting in delicate layers and tones from detailed drawings and studies of plant specimens over a period of weeks and months.  Enjoy!
